Winter shuttle to Exit Glacier & Kayak Rentals

SHUTTLE IS AVAILABLE AFTER OCT 30, 2020 CONDITIONS PERMITTING
If road and weather conditions permit, travel by van to Exit Glacier Nature Center
where the trail system begins. The Alaska DOT closed the road at 1st gate to local traffic on Oct 25, 2020. We operate by special permit with our vans to transport people the next 7 miles. WE will only operate if road conditions permit, this can be spotty at times.
Once you are there!
Dress for winter conditions, boots, gloves, appropriate outerwear!
Weather conditions change quickly, be prepared.
It is colder at the glacier than in town, take water.
No cell phone coverage out there so plan your visit.
About the Hike!
The hike normally takes approximately 1.5 hrs to the overlook trail and back to the Nature Center
where we pick you up 2 hrs later without snow or ice. However, should snow shoes be or mini cleats may be necessary due to ice or snow, more time should be considered.

Shuttle Times : Shuttle is scheduled 2 hr round trip each departure time for reserved trips only.
Shuttle only runs for scheduled reserved trips only.
If there are no reservations we do not run the shuttle.
No combination trips! 2-person minimum to run shuttle!

Explore the captivating ghost tree forest. From Tonsina Point, make your paddle back to Lowell Point.
Winter Rental Rate - Single $99/day Tandem $150 / day
We drop off kayaks and pick up kayaks included with rental
We supply Life vest, paddles, skirts, paddle float, and sponge with all rentals!
We reserve the right to refuse rentals to anyone
What you should bring:
Synthetic fabric layers, gloves, beanie and/or baseball cap, wool/warm socks, sunglasses and water. Please do not wear jeans or cotton fabrics - they hold on to water when they get wet and can make your trip uncomfortable. We'll do our best to fill in the gaps with our gear where we can.
